Welcome to Chaotik’s Revenge online fanzine!

Twelve years back i was living in a small town called Hellevoetsluis (The Netherlands). Hellevoetsluis has always been a boring shithole if you were a teenager, but luckily for me, around that time i was hitting puberty the punk scene was slowly creeping towords our area. The bigger cities around us had squats where punkbands were playing already. Fanzines were made, buttons, records. I fell in love with the loud music, the ideals, the attitude.

When i bought my first punk fanzine i got the idea to make one too. I named it Chaotik’s Revenge. It was just a small fanzine. Every issue only contained 2 interviews and some reviews of records i recently bought. It was all done D.I.Y and cut ‘n’ paste. The aim behind this small fanzine was to spread it locally hoping it was going to lit the punk fire in my boring town and YES, it worked!! Together with a few dedicated people we created an awesome punk scene, with a handfull of bands, gigs, fanzines. If (local) punkbands played in our area you could expect a show to be completely packed. Great times!

Even now, so many years later, there is still a dedicated group of punks there. Having a free shop, playing in bands, doing gigs. It is not as big as it was, but it is still a good place to be.

On the highpoint of the punk mayham in our area i decided to expand my fanzine to a wider audience. It became twice as thick and eventually it was distributed in most of Europe by myself, but other nice people did the distribution in Mexico, Phillipines, Malasyia, Spain, Brazil and Belarus. Also i did split issues with Gran Peligro from Phillipines and Ploppy Pants from Scotland.

Alas the internet catched up with us old school cut ‘n’ paste fanzine makers. The latest punk news and reviews were old news by the time your fanzine came out. So the intrest to buy a zine from you became less of a priority. Many fanzine makers made the switch from reallife fanzines to online fanzine making.

Eventually it became harder and harder to spread your fanzine. The postal costs were getting higher and higher, copy costs were getting higher, it costs loads of time and energy to keep it going and on…. So, only a few die-hards left, but Chaotik’s Revenge was one of those zines who died a slow death.

Still, the will to keep on writing stayed with me and after 3 years of silence Chaotik’s Revenge is back again, but not in a paper version alas, but as an online fanzine. Hope you will like it anyway.

It will contain talks, articles, interviews recipes, poems, whatever. Think: Punk, D.I.Y ethics, permaculture, eating (organic!) food, traveling, anarchism, feminism, stories about love, failure, dreams, anger, a general dismay for the food industry…. If this get’s you intrest, read on!

Enjoy!
